Katie's passion for beautifully curated spaces began early. Whether born from an innate appreciation for home or a lasting fascination with transformation, she has long been captivated by the way design shapes daily life. To her, a thoughtfully designed interior is more than visually compelling—it is a reflection of the people who live within it, where function, warmth, and individuality come together seamlessly.
She is drawn to the details: the interplay of color and texture, the careful placement of each element, and the balance between form and function. Every space is viewed as an opportunity to tell a story, one that feels elevated yet deeply personal, layered with character and intention.
Her design foundation is both academic and experiential. Katie earned a degree in Architecture and Design Studies from the University of Colorado at Boulder and further refined her creative perspective while studying at Florence University of the Arts in Italy. Her professional journey spans architecture and design firms, as well as a meaningful chapter in education, where she served as both a teacher and school principal. While diverse, these experiences have shaped a unique approach—pairing an intuitive design sensibility with a thoughtful, process-driven mindset.
She believes the most compelling interiors are those that feel like an authentic expression of self. A home should inspire and comfort in equal measure, reflecting the lives lived within it. It is her greatest joy to help clients articulate their vision and translate it into spaces that feel effortlessly personal, beautifully functional, and timelessly refined.

With a background in fashion and apparel, Kyli has a keen eye for style and details. Her eye for textiles and furnishings is a result from both professional experience and passion. She began her career at high-profile fashion houses in NYC before settling back in the South with a dynamic role in strategic design at SPANX. Kyli eventually transitioned into product and digital marketing where she continued to launch some of the most coveted brands and products globally.
Her superior demonstration in business development, digital marketing and creative execution brings exceptional value to KBD and fueling the growth of this interior design house.
Kyli has a degree in Fashion Merchandising and Journalism from The University of Georgia and a graduate degree in Fashion Marketing from Parsons The New School for Design in NYC. She further enhanced her love for history, art and architecture while studying Fine Arts in Verona, Italy.
Her design aesthetic is focused on creating warm and curated spaces with moody colors, layered textures, and surprising accents.
