We recently shared some information about kitchen remodel costs, and have gotten several questions about bathroom costs as well! Bathroom remodels can be sneaky expensive. The amount of hard surface materials to purchase and the number of different trades needed to complete the construction, make the project costly. We always like to be up front about the realities of remodel expenses, so read on for the details…
(*A reminder that the following is based on projects completed in the Denver area in the last 6-12 months)

We like to categorize bathrooms separately into primary suite bathrooms and secondary bathrooms. Typically we select material finishes that are a bit higher end in the primary suite, and then can get a little more creative in secondary bathrooms.
Budget Range for Primary Bathroom Remodels: $30K-$80K
Budget Range for Secondary Bathroom Remodels: $12K-$25K
Here is a sample budget breakdown for a 130sf primary bathroom suite recently completed. This project had minimal changes to the overall layout and plumbing locations:
- Vanity Cabinetry: $6,000
- Lighting: $1,800
- Sinks & Faucets: $300
- Shower Fixtures: $1,200
- Freestanding Bath Tub & Filler: $3,500
- Floor Tile: $2,600
- Wall Tile: $1,100
- Trim and Grout: $500
- Vanity Mirrors: $1,500
- Labor & Install: $34,000
PROJECT TOTAL: $52,500
