The Best Places to Buy Affordable Art Online

One of the easiest ways to make a home feel finished is with art. It adds personality, color, texture, and that collected-over-time feeling that makes a room feel uniquely yours.

The problem? Original artwork can get expensive quickly—especially when you’re trying to fill a large wall or multiple rooms.

The good news is that beautiful art doesn’t have to come with a huge price tag. There are so many great places to find affordable prints and reproductions online that still feel elevated and thoughtfully curated.

Here are some of my favorite places to shop for affordable art online, plus a few tips for choosing pieces that feel collected rather than mass-produced.

1. Artfully Walls

If you love the idea of discovering independent artists but don’t know where to start, Artfully Walls is one of my favorite resources.

Their collection is beautifully curated and includes everything from colorful abstracts and modern pieces to landscapes, photography, and more traditional artwork. They also offer framing, which makes the entire process incredibly easy.

I especially love Artfully Walls when I’m looking for something with a little more personality. The collection feels interesting and designer-forward without requiring an original-art budget.

Best for: Modern art, colorful pieces, abstracts, and discovering independent artists.

2. Juniper Print Shop

Juniper Print Shop is one we recommend all the time—and for good reason.

They offer both digital downloads and printed artwork, which gives you a lot of flexibility depending on your budget. If you’re willing to download a piece and have it printed locally, it can be an incredibly affordable way to get large-scale artwork.

Their florals and landscapes are some of my favorites. Many of the pieces have the softness and character of an original painting, which makes them especially good for adding warmth to a room.

And if you have a really large wall to fill, start here. Oversized artwork can get expensive fast, and Juniper is one of our favorite ways to get the scale you need without spending a fortune.

Best for: Landscapes, florals, traditional-inspired art, and affordable oversized pieces.

3. The Poster Club

For a more Scandinavian or minimalist aesthetic, The Poster Club has such a beautiful collection.

They feature artists from around the world, and the entire site has a really refined, gallery-like feel. You’ll find plenty of understated abstracts, line drawings, photography, and pieces with soft, organic shapes.

Another thing we love is their curated collections. Gallery walls can be surprisingly difficult to get right, so having artwork already grouped together can take some of the guesswork out of creating one.

Best for: Scandinavian interiors, minimalist spaces, neutral artwork, and curated gallery walls.

4. Desenio

Desenio is a great resource when you want options. Their collection is huge, with artwork ranging from abstract and graphic to botanical, photographic, vintage-inspired, and more.

Because there is so much to choose from, we recommend going in with a clear idea of what you’re looking for rather than simply scrolling through everything.

Search for something specific like “vintage landscape,” “abstract neutral,” or “botanical print.” Narrowing your search will make it much easier to find pieces that complement your home.

Best for: Variety, budget-friendly gallery walls, and finding artwork for almost any interior style.

5. Good Mood Prints

If you’ve been around here for a while, you know we love a little quirk—and Good Mood Prints delivers.

Their collection is colorful, playful, and modern, making it a great place to find something that adds personality to a room.

Art doesn’t always need to be serious. Sometimes a slightly unexpected piece is exactly what a space needs to keep it from feeling overly designed.

Best for: Color, playful artwork, quirky pieces, and adding personality.

How to Make Affordable Art Look More Expensive

Where you buy your art matters, but how you choose and display it matters just as much.

Our biggest tip is to stop searching for generic terms like “wall art.”

Instead, think about what your room actually needs. Is it a moody landscape? A colorful abstract? A vintage botanical? A simple line drawing? A black-and-white photograph?

The more specific you are, the more likely you are to find something that feels intentional rather than something you bought simply because you needed to fill a blank wall.

A few other things we keep in mind:

Pay attention to scale. One of the most common mistakes we see is artwork that’s too small for the wall or furniture underneath it. When you’re deciding between two sizes, the larger option is usually the better choice.

Mix styles and mediums. Your artwork doesn’t all need to match. In fact, it usually looks more interesting when it doesn’t. Try pairing a landscape with an abstract, a photograph with a sketch, or something vintage-inspired with something more modern.

Upgrade the frame. A great frame can completely change how an inexpensive print feels. If the included framing isn’t quite right for your space, consider having the print framed separately or finding a vintage frame.

Don’t decorate every wall at once. A collected home takes time. It’s okay to leave a wall empty until you find something you genuinely love.

Creating a Home That Feels Collected

Ultimately, the goal isn’t to find artwork that looks expensive. It’s to find pieces that feel personal to you and make sense in your home.

Mix affordable prints with pieces you’ve collected while traveling, family photographs, vintage finds, original artwork when the budget allows, and anything else that tells a story.

That’s what gives a home character.

And remember: you don’t need to spend thousands of dollars on art to create a beautiful, thoughtfully designed space. Start with pieces you genuinely love, pay attention to scale and framing, and let your collection grow over time.
