We’ve watched a lot of clients walk into their finished home for the first time, and it’s never the furniture that gets them. It’s the little things — the books stacked just right, the vase that somehow looks like it’s always been there, the shelf that finally feels like them. That’s styling. And it’s the part of the process most people don’t think about until it’s staring them in the face, done or undone.

Here’s the thing: we’re thinking about styling from day one. We just don’t shop for it until the very end.

Elevating everyday living starts with a plan

Every project we take on is about elevating everyday living — and that means a home has to be beautiful and livable, not one or the other. Styling is where that promise actually gets kept. It’s the layer that takes a well-designed room and makes it feel lived-in, personal, layered.

So while the shopping happens last, the thinking doesn’t. From our very first conversations with a client, we’re paying attention. What do they collect? What makes them laugh? What’s sitting on their current shelves that we’d never dream of packing away? That’s information we’re gathering the whole time, long before we’re standing in a shop with a client’s home in mind.

How it actually comes together

Before anything gets purchased, we build it. Every vignette — a console, a shelf, a coffee table — gets mocked up on a design board first. We want to see how pieces sit together, where your eye lands, what’s missing, before we ever spend a dollar.

The bigger accent pieces go through you for approval, same as the furniture did earlier on. But the smaller stuff — the fill-in objects, the little sculptural moments, the things that make a room feel curated instead of catalog — we choose those ourselves, based on everything we’ve learned about you along the way. That’s not a guess. That’s us paying attention.

Once it’s all installed, you get final say. Something not feeling right? We swap it or return it. Simple as that. Styling should feel like you, not like whatever we happened to like at the store.

Something living. Something weird. Something old.

You’ve heard us talk about this philosophy and apply it to every home we style. A plant, fresh stems, something that needs a little care — because a home should feel used, not staged. Something a little quirky, a little off-kilter — because too-perfect reads as sterile, and that’s not what we’re going for. And something old — a family piece, an antique market find, something with a story — because that’s what keeps a room from feeling like it showed up yesterday.
